How the price is worked out
Sawn timber is priced by volume. For each line of your list:
CFT = width (in) × thickness (in) × length (ft) × pieces ÷ 144
The amount is the total CFT multiplied by the rate per CFT for the wood you choose. A quote may show separate rates for first and second quality timber, so you can pick what suits the job. What to include in your cutting list
- The wood - for example Burma teak or mahogany.
- Each size as width × thickness in inches and length in feet, for example 6″ × 4″ × 10 ft.
- How many pieces of each size.
- What it is for (door frame, furniture, construction), so we can suggest the right wood and grade.
- Your location, if you want it delivered.
