What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Some are needed for the site to work at all; others are optional and are only used if you agree. This website also keeps a few items in your browser's local storage, which works in a similar way and is described below.
Your choice
When you first visit, we ask whether you agree to optional cookies. Essential cookies are always on. Analytics and marketing cookies stay off unless you choose Accept all or switch them on under Customise. Refusing is as easy as accepting, and refusing does not stop you using the website or buying from us.
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time from Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. We keep your choice for 6 months, and ask again if we start using a new kind of optional cookie.
Essential cookies (always on)
- ci_session: keeps you signed in and remembers your cart and checkout as you move between pages. Expires 2 hours after your last visit.
- csrf_cookie_name: a security token that stops other websites submitting forms in your name. Expires after 2 hours.
- acr_consent: remembers your cookie choice, so we do not ask on every page. Kept for 6 months.
When you send a form, such as the contact form, a sign-in or the newsletter, Cloudflare's Turnstile check confirms that you are a person and not an automated program. It is needed for security and may use its own cookie or browser storage, under Cloudflare's privacy policy.
When you pay online, our payment gateway Razorpay may set its own cookies inside its secure payment window. They are needed to complete the payment safely and are governed by Razorpay's own policy.
Analytics cookies (only with your consent)
We use Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to see which pages are visited, how people find us and where the site can be improved. These cookies (names beginning _ga) are set by Google. We see the results in total, not as information about you personally. Google Tag Manager is not loaded at all until you agree.
Marketing cookies (only with your consent)
With your consent, advertising partners such as Google may set cookies to measure how well our advertisements work and to show you relevant offers on other websites. These are set by the partner, under its own privacy policy.
Google Maps (only if you ask for it)
The map on our Contact page is provided by Google and is not loaded until you press Show the map. Once it loads, Google may set its own cookies.
Fonts and code libraries
Some fonts and code libraries load from Google Fonts, Cloudflare and jsDelivr. They set no cookies, but like any website your browser contacts, they receive your IP address.
Storage in your browser
To save you retyping, the website keeps a few things on your own device. They are never sent to anyone else for advertising:
- Products you viewed recently, shown as "Recently viewed"
- Your recent searches, so the search box can suggest them again
- A size list or quotation you are still filling in, so it is not lost if you sign in or close the tab. It is removed when you send it or clear the sheet
- A custom plank order you are still filling in
Controlling cookies in your browser
You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings. If you block essential cookies, signing in, the cart and checkout will not work.
Our mobile app
The ACR Traders mobile app does not use browser cookies. It keeps you signed in with a secure token stored on your phone.
